Meet the Horses of Firefly Fields

Our young stud colt, Sammy, is our future stallion prospect. He is a glorious example of the Kiger Mustang. Sammy is a full-blooded Kiger. His sire, Patron, is a branded Kiger band stallion standing at stud at Winterwind Kigers in Nova Scotia. His dam, Jessie, is out of one of the most important Kiger bloodlines tracing back to the original Spanish horses that were brought to America in the 17th century.

These mares were all chosen for their minds, conformation, and athleticism. The mustang mares hail from several different States and HMAs, including the Kiger and Riddle HMAs of the Kiger Mustangs. We also have a few other breeds, such as Appaloosa and PRE mares. These ladies are our foundation and we look to them and their heritage to leave a legacy of quality riding and competition horses. 

This specific breed of Mustang is the paramount of our breeding program. The breed is endemic to a small section of eastern Oregon and the BLM, along with a group of volunteers and organizations, works diligently to preserve and protect these horses. The Kiger Mustang is, to us, everything a horse should be: brave, intelligent, nimble, swift, and beautiful.
