Our Code of Ethics
Here at Firefly Fields, we take the breeding of our animals very seriously. This goes for our dogs, as well as for our horses, and even our ducks and chickens. Our animals need us to speak for them and be their advocate. We will never bring a life into this world without taking full responsibility for that life and giving that young creature the very best start.

Breeding a litter of puppies takes a tremendous amount of work, money, commitment, and love. We do not just put two dogs together, sell the puppies, and rake in the dough! That's just not how any of this works - if it's done ethically and responsibly.
-
We spend thousands of hours researching pedigrees and studying our dogs' strengths and weaknesses and then researching the same on potential stud dogs to give us the best chances of producing puppies with sound structure, working ability, stable temperament, and genetic health.
-
We do extensive health testing on both parents to ensure no genetic disorders are passed on to future generations.
-
We make sure the female is healthy and strong and has complete veterinary care during and after her pregnancy and we are prepared for complications.
-
We provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for the puppies and we provide new owners with extensive documentation and supplies for their puppy's future.
-
We gladly and fully take back any puppy we have bred if the owner cannot keep him or her. No questions asked.
-
Lastly, but certainly not least of all, we provide a lifetime of support for our clients and their new canine partners.
